Train
One of the most favourite transportation for Indonesians―including me. Moving quite fast and always arrives/departs in time like trains in Japan, so they do not have to stuck in some traffic jams on busy streets and/or worry about getting late in their school, university, office, or other places. Aside of those, we do not have to bring a lot of money for the fare trip since the fare is very affordable (around IDR 3000 or 23 cents for 1-25 kilometres).
I was thirteen when I got a first chance to take this transportation with my family into Kota Tua site in Jakarta―around the midst of 2013. Because most Indonesians did not know its whereabout that time, so inside the train is very quiet. It was quite a long trip, that I could listen my own playlist on MP3 player. And when I was getting tired of listening music, I could see some views that I had never seen before, or should I say "The Real Picture of Poverty Society in Jakarta". Indecent houses, unemployments, children who do not go to school, and seas of garbages.
With passing times, more Indonesians became more realize of its whereabout. So, to reduce some wasted energy and arrive in school, university, office, or other places early, they started to take trains as their main transportation. Every day, every rush hours―morning (07.00-09.00 AM Western Indonesian Time) and evening (04.00-06.00 PM Western Indonesian Time)―every station, every platform, every wagon are always full of Indonesians in their office suit or uniform. The usual views for Indonesians. Moreover, inside every wagon are like cans of sardines, so it is very hard to move near the door to get out in their destination—station―and very susceptible of getting their wallet picked up secretly by strangers.
But, all of these are our own pride because the roads will not be full of hundred millions until billions of motor vehicles in the capital city like before. Though it is a hard work for the governor to settle this situation.
