Introduction

Hello, guys! Since this is my first post here, let me introduce myself. My name is Shane Tommo (pen name) and I'm 100% Indonesian―though I have Chinese blood in my veins. I actually live in Tangerang, Jakarta's "neighbour", but due to my education in Padjadjaran University I had to move into Jatinangor, Sumedang Regency, West Java, for temporarily four years. And if I get a homesick, I will obviously return to my hometown―luckily I am not an acute sufferer :D. I enrolled in Padjadjaran University last year―August 2017―especially that I am a student of Japanese Literature, Faculty of Cultural Sciences. Though I really wanted to enter Communication Science in University of Indonesia due to my dream of being a journalist, God made a different choice for me and I was pretty upset that time for about a month before the university's orientation days started >:"[. But, the good thing is that I can still continue my Japanese studies due to my dream to conti

LINE logo My LINE–a chatting platform–has been updated. The application just added a new feature to it, and, “I am really excited about it.” Very well then, ladies and gentlemen, may I present you LINE’s newest feature. "Share highlights of your day with 'STORIES'!" LINE's new feature ... ... ... ... ... ...W-what the f*ck? I do not get it. What is your f*cking purpose, LINE?? You do not have to copycat Instagram which already had this feature since 2016–and the first generation ever Snapchat (since 2013). A feature that allows me to do some live reports, venting and ranting sessions, quiz, voting, etc. And as for LINE, you already have thousands of stickers and emoticons that allows me to express my true feeling for others. You also have a ‘FREE CALL’ feature, which is good for me that I do not have to pay for my calling fees. Then, you also have LINE Points that can be got from installing an app or adding an official account

Mibabi Isi 2 - Goreng Spesial

Image
Last week, I just found this amazing post by my Facebook friend. It is called Mibabi Isi 2 Goreng Spesial , a local product of instant noodles that came from Bali with a pig picture on its package. Based on Google, the product had been released since 2016 in Bali Province. It is classified as a non halal product, so if you are a Moslem, do not ever try to eat this. The product has been exported in cities around Indonesia, and one of it is Bandung. Coincidentally, my Facebook friend lives in Bandung, and she told me that the product is sold at a supermarket there. Moreover, it costs IDR 10k each–which is affordable for a non halal product, and for a college student like me. I was in hype, and asked my classmate who also lives in Bandung to buy this product, so that I can try it and give it a review for my dearest pork lover readers. First, I am going to show you the box’s packaging. The Package - apparently my classmate gave me two packages www (Picture:Canon EOS 1000D)

Dear The '10 Years Ago' Me...

Image
This just popped up on my mind. I miss my childhood and all shits that happened that time. Some people must have been thinking the same thing as above. As we grow up, we would like to do things that we already did in our childhood, like watching cartoons, playing games, having a midday nap after school, and more. But on the other side, we would also like to fix all of our mistakes in the past. Like, bullying our own classmate, arguing with parents, betraying our best friend, and more. And to tell you, I am one of those people. In elementary, I loved hitting my own classmates, being arrogant when I got A+ in every tests and/or when I was in ‘The Top Ten’ student list, and gossiping. In junior high, I betrayed my own best friend. Then, I became a lazy and silent girl in class for three years straight. And, became a shyly arrogant girl after being said, “You’re so pretty, girl.” In senior high, my laziness was increased and still silent for three years straight. And the wo

–Indonesia Millenial Summit 2019 (idntimes.com) The event was held at Jan 19, 2019 in Kempinski Grand Ballroom, Jakarta. With a vision “Shaping Indonesia’s Future”, the event’s purpose is becoming a space to discuss some hot and interesting issues that are spread in Indonesian youth society–or we call it as ‘millenials’–by gathering all leaders around Indonesia. From academics, athletes, government officials, business leaders, NGO leaders, social entrepreneurs, activists, artists, religious leaders, until scientists. IDN Times, as a media that are loved by millenials and Z generation, is the event’s organizer. The event had three stages (Nusantara Stage, Garuda Stage, and Bhinneka Stage) with interesting sessions in every hour, and you could pick one that interested you very much. And, I am excited to announce that I was getting this rare chance to join this event and hear some messages from the speakers. Opening Ceremony (l-r) William Utomo, Winston Utomo, Jusu

Are you happy now?

Image
Not sure if I am happy right now. I am just doing things as usual today, like playing games, checking messages, surfing the net, eating, playing with my cat, watching videos on YouTube , and sleeping. Those above are all my activities during my university's holiday. The first term stars from the end of December (around Christmas) until midst-February, while the second term starts from midst-June until the first week September. My dear readers, most of you will say, "Wow... that is quite a long day for holiday. Wish that my school/university is like that." But, I will not recommend this kind of holiday to you, guys, except that you have a lot of money that you can travel anywhere and anytime. It is boring as hell, wish I could go to university again because I miss my friends so much. Deep inside, I want to do a single productive activity during this holiday, like doing a part-time job or intern, learning how to drive a car, travelling around Jakarta, hanging
